本届研讨会由看见十八丁联同霹雳州森林局（Perak Forestry Department）、UCSI 大学及 NetsEco 共同主办，期望以十八丁为案例，深入探讨生态环境、传统产业、
十八丁拥有世界知名、面积超过 400 平方公里的峇登红树林保护区，
大会将汇聚来自国内外的政策制定者、研究学者、产业代表、
为期三天的国际研讨会，将结合实地体验、专题讲座及互动工作坊。
阔别多年后再次举办第三届国际研讨会，这不仅是一场学术会议，
由于场地与体验活动名额有限，本次研讨会仅开放 10 个公众名额参与报名。

Kuala Sepetang: A Living Model for Sustainable Development International Conference
Join us for the impactful International Conference “Kuala Sepetang: A Living Model for Sustainable Development” from July 31 to August 2, 2026, at the Matang Mangrove Forest Education Centre in Kuala Sepetang, Perak. Organized by the Persatuan Rimba Kuala Sepetang in collaboration with the Perak Forestry Department, UCSI, and NetsEco, this event aligns with World Mangrove Day on July 26.
We are bringing together influential policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, NGOs, and community representatives to forge powerful collaborations for sustainable development. This conference will showcase the Matang Mangrove Forest Reserve, recognized worldwide for its excellence in ecological conservation and community livelihoods.
This 3-day integrated conference will include: Field immersion, an International Seminar, and an Interactive Workshop.
31 July Day 1 – Field Immersion: Ecology, Industry & Community. (9am – 5pm)
Participants will experience the mangrove landscape and engage with the local community to gain an understanding of the relationship between the ecosystem and local livelihoods. Activities will include:
– Mangrove silviculture briefing
– Boat field visit to Pulau Kalumpang and river mouth for mangrove ecology observation
– Tour of a traditional mangrove charcoal kiln
– Mangrove Bark Natural Dye Workshop (Ni Siap)

1 August Day 2 – International Seminar. (8.30am – 5.30pm)
We have invited speakers from various disciplines and countries to share their expertise on three main themes, covering eight topics:
Seminar I: The role of mangrove ecosystems in fostering sustainable communities
Seminar II: Innovations in the mangrove charcoal industry
Seminar III: Empowering local communities through the revitalization of cultural heritage
2 Aug Day 3 – Interactive Workshop and Model Building (9am-1pm)
Collaborate with fellow participants to develop a robust Sustainable Living Model for Kuala Sepetang. This hands-on session will demonstrate how ecological stewardship, cultural heritage, and community economies can coexist and thrive together.
