Our Mission
《看见十八丁》——守护大地之母红树林
“看见十八丁” 成立于 2014 年，扎根于马来西亚霹雳州十八丁渔村，是专注于生态保育、环境教育与社区文化再生的在地组织。十八丁位于占地逾 400 平方公里的峇登红树林保护区核心地带，拥有全球最完善的红树林永续生态管理系统之一，也是传统炭窑产业世代依存的重要据地。
十年来，“看见十八丁”以 “社区就是教室，大地就是课堂” 为理念，推动一系列地方行动，包括：
（一） 生态教育：从儿童与青年为中心，培养在地孩子成为小解说员、志工与环境守护者。
（二）社区自主：串联社区组织、炭窑与在地产业，共同推动以红树林为基础的永续生态旅游。
（三） 红涩染 Ni Siap：复育消失近 50 年的红树皮“自然染涩”传统技艺，培育与组织女性，发展文创与在地经济。
（四）文化再生：透过导览、展览、田野采集与纪录，重建炭窑文化、渔村生活与红树林在地智慧。
社造十年，已达社区自主，青年回流、志工成长为团队核心，村民对家乡的认同感更加稳固。2024年，「再·看见十八丁，十周年环境与艺术行动」为主题，扩大跨界合作，从“炭路”探索生态与文化的未来方向，让百年渔村在守护红树林的同时焕发新生命。

走过十年，一步一脚印，Kuala Sepetang虽然结集了各种资源，然而这还是不够的，过去的发生只奠定了一些基石，未来如何，又将引领十八丁到哪里，则取决于当前的新观点和社区培力之上。

Kuala Sepetang
This century-old fishing village is rich with historical value as it had been transformed from a prosperous port into a fishing village, a home for many families. It has an unique geographical environment because of its contribution as the largest ecological treasure of mangroves in West Malaysia. Given the rich resources and heritage value available here, Kuala Sepetang provides an endless vitality for the development of eco-tourism. Thus, Look Port Weld team is committed in creating a viable fishing village community with a strong identity of sustainable development .
