The 2nd Ecological Camp for Primary School Students of "Look! Port Weld" through the Lens" was successfully concluded with deep appreciation to the sponsorship and support from Photographer Magazine, Olympus and Epson

In conjunction with the school holiday, 40 primary school students from Taiping and Sepetang signed up for the 2nd Primary School Eco-Camp "Look! Port Weld through the lens" on June 1-2. This second camp was organized by Sepetang Working Committee. Thanks to the sponsorship of Photographer Magazine, Olympus and Epson, each child had the opportunity to learn to take pictures with their own cameras, and printed their favorite photo.

Zhuang Baiqi, the chief planner of Sepetang, said that this course was mainly for children to discover the beauty of Sepetang through the lens under the induction of mangroves, to be proud of the land where they grew up, and to learn how to protect their own land.

The key lessons on the first day of the camp were "what's missing from me?" - Auction and Treasure Hunt". We invited campers in each group to cooperate in auctioning hands, feet, ears, and eyes in exchange for things in the treasure hunt game and at the end of the game, each team member will keep some of the treasures and some will be auctioned. Those items that have been auctioned are designed into environmentally friendly handmade photo frames.

This camp also used green picture books to tell stories about environmental education, such as "The impact of noise from excavator and the countryside changes". Each group was asked to observe the differences from the various photos taken before and after. They will then discuss and share their stories in a painting, while thinking about why the countryside changes and other issues. On the second day of the photography workshop, campers were invited to three scenic spots: mangrove forest, charcoal kiln, and Sepetang. After that, they described their current situation in Sepetang and how to protect this place.

Campers description about Kuala Sepetang: Kuala Sepetang's Fishing Village is very historic. There are many dilapidated small houses, and the seafood in Sepetang is very delicious and cooked, with a traditional taste", "Sepetang is as beautiful as heaven, because Sepetang has fresh seafood, fresh air, and a beautiful mangroves.

"Don't litter, pick flowers and trees randomly, don't cut down mangroves, don't pollute water sources, use reusable bags and tableware, don't burn garbage, plant flowers and trees" are the action items listed that can protect Kuala Sepetang.

Most of the children said in the feedback form that they were blindfolded and tied their hands and feet in the photography workshop, auction and treasure hunt game. They learned team spirit, mutual cooperation and work together to complete the task from the game , and promote friendship. The photography workshop also allowed the children to discover the beautiful scenery of Kuala Sepetang.

After each camper put his favorite photo taken in the photography workshop in the environmental protection handmade photo frame made by himself, a beautiful picture was drawn in the second ecological camp of "See Eighteen Ding with the Lens".

The campers were very happy with the environmentally friendly handmade photo frames and photography works they made.
