2016-2017 "See Kuala Sepetang with the lens" The 2nd and 3rd Ecological Camp for Primary School Students

In 2016 and 2017, we cooperated with Photographer magazine, let the children feel the mangroves, and to discover the beauty of Kuala Sepetang through the lens so that they would be proud of the land where they grew up and learn how to protect their own homes. The content of the second course was to invite campers to 3 scenic spots: mangrove forest, charcoal kiln, and Shibading. The children shared how they would describe their home, Kuala Sepetang and how to protect this place based on the photos taken. After which, each camper put his or her favorite photo in a handmade photo frame made by themselves that serves as a sourvenior from the photography workshop.

35 children from Kuala Sepetang signed up for the third ecological camp. The first day focused on "Where is my home?". In the first session, the children were asked to draw the floor plan of their home. In the second session, the children were asked to approach the cultural map to find out where their home is. The third session was to look for the characteristics of Kuala Sepetang, and put identified tourist attractions such as piers, mangrove forest and charcoal kiln. There were also other scenic spots to watch eagles, fireflies and dolphins marked on the map. A map with color and a story is finally revealed! On the second day, the camera of "Seeing Shibading with the lens" was continued and the campers went into the fishing village to take pictures of three themes: 1) Sepetang's smile 2) Sepetang's colors 3) My favorite Sepetang where it captured the beauty of the homeland through the lens, so that the children can cultivate their love for their own land.
