Kuala Sangga Peizhi Chinese Elementary School Story Camp
Kuala Sangga is an island surrounded by mangroves and the sea, a small fishing village without electricity and water. At present, there are less than 10 families left, including a coffee shop, a Chinese primary school, a Catholic church, a temple, etc. The local children have no chance to get in touch with the outside world. Their lives are very simple. Their parents live by catching cockles, shrimp and fish. Everything depends on the weather and sea to support their livelihood.
Teachers and children live in harmony and get along well with each other. The natural ecology of Kuala Sangga is very rich. The children almost live with nature. The knowledge of life is very familiar to the children, but the academic language or the nouns of various plant ecology must be strengthened. Since 2013, the Principal had entered Peizhihua Elementary School to run environmental protection camps, ecological camps and story telling camp, hoping to let children step on their own homes to plant a natural ecological seed in their hearts and to get in touch with ecological experiences beyond textbooks. They were also taught to draw a map of Kuala Sangga and write the story of their homeland: "Kuala Sangga is my home" and subsequently put into children's shadow puppet community picture book.
There are only 3 students, a principal and 3 teachers left in Laogang Peizhi Chinese Primary School.
